GOOGLE

Google is a useful tool to work collaboratively. We use it at school to upload report cards and work altogether. You can leave comments to your colleagues and don't need to meet face to face.
Students can also use to do so. I have used Google presentations with teenagers to work on a project about "Bullying". Anyway, I believe it is a bit difficult for children under 12.
I created this document as a springboard to talk about their weekends. They had to work with their parents because they are 8 and they are not allowed to have a gmail account

AUDACITY

I used Audacity to edit the song "Staying Alive". I thought it was too long and I wanted to trim it. You can click on the name of the song to listen to the audio.

Here's the lyrics. I hope you enjoy it.

MOVIE MAKER

Movie maker is one of the tools I like most. I usually prepare my "Open classes" with Powerpoint and Movie maker. Both tools are easy to use and you can personalize them.
This Movie is aimed to review present continuous apart from checking comprehension. I haven't used it yet but I would like to use it with my 7th form students. They are false beginners.
As I couldn't upload the video from my computer, I shared it in YouTube and uploaded it to the Blog.

KAHOOT

I love Kahoot and even if I haven't used it in class, I know my students will also love it!
It is hard to use with little kids for two reasons: on the first hand, they find it difficult to use the tools with no help, on the other hand, computers don't work properly and cell phones are no allowed at school.
I prepared this  to work with my 3rd form students. They are beginners. We have been working with "There is/are" and Places in the city. You can join in and play. Remember to copy the pin to start the game: pin: 202040

MIND MAPS

Mind maps are a good resource as warm-ups to recap previous lessons or brainstorm ideas to start a new topic. Images are also powerful when using mind maps. Text should be short.
I used this mind map to compare two tools we have been using in the course. Can you guess which ones?

QUIZLET

Quizlet is one of my favourite tools. You can work with vocabulary and grammatical structures. The tool allows you to create or use a set studies of vocabulary or definitions. With them, students will be able to work in class or at home before a test or according to individual needs. They can even play!!!!
I created this study set: "School subjects" to work with my students in 5th form. They are false beginners.

WORDSEARCHES

Wordsearches are also motivating!!!! They are a good way of revising vocabulary and spelling. I used this wordsearch with my students in a bilingual school, 3rd form ,before a test to review animal body parts. They worked in pairs.

USING CROSSWORDS

Children love solving crosswords!!! There are plenty of tools to do them online and download them. This time I used The teachers corner.net to create a crossword about "The family". I was working with 4th formers not only with the vocabulary but also with Possessive case. They worked individually. This would help them to introduce their own families.

VOKI

I created this Voki to introduce myself the first day at school.
Voki is one of the tools we have been using during the course. I think it is useful for introducing topics, giving instructions and even for our students.
I used Voki with a project about "Superheroes" and the final outcome was to create their own superhero by using Voki. My students were false beginners, aged 9. It was aimed to work in groups of 4.
